Hoon Currency

Lads - ever wonder where your name came from?

In the ages gone by primitive man developed a simple currency based on four different stones. The first was a small pebble known as the 'Mackerel' because although they were in great abundance, they seemed to slip through your fingers and it proved difficult to keep hold of them in any large quantity.

Because of this a second stone was introduced worth roughly 40 Mackerels. This was called the 'Weasel' because it was rarely seen.

The wealthy who were known to have many Weasels introduced a third, larger rock into circulation. This became known by poorer folk as a 'Devil' because they believed that only by selling your soul to the Devil could such wealth be achieved.

The most wealthy man of his time, who had a treasure horde of more Devils than he could count eventually became frustrated and declared his entire fortune was equal to one large precious stone that he found. He aptly named it the 'Squirrel'.
